GIG//3D LOGO ANIMATION

I have been working freelance lazily for years. Now that I am out of school, I find that I am taking more projects that I haven’t considered before. Like this one. I was contacted to make a 3D animated logo for a BC company. I took it out of excitement to be able to flex my 3D muscle, and a great opportunity to fill-in my portfolio.
When approached, I was presented with a logo that the client was already pleased with. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it and was actually impressed with it’s design. Let me tell you, having a good starting point speeds up the process immensely. The client wanted to have a logo animation that was simple, elegant, and clean. They didn’t want anything too complicated, or busy as they wanted to underscore the minimal impact their mining technology had on the environment, and the surroundings of the mining sites.
WANT WANT WANT

Ok it’s Friday, it’s been a long-ass week so let me begin by saying, I can play guitar. I took lessons, and while I haven’t retained enough knowledge to fill 16 bars, I can play when there’s a gun to my head, or a beautiful woman in the room in need of some serenading. So, by default I’m not one of those button-mashing, guitar hero cop-outs that brag about completing DragonForce’s “Through the fire and the flames” on expert with a bored look on their faces, and duct tape holding their thumbs against their palms(there is a reason that song is so freakin’ hard). I think the people that really need an applause, are kids like this, and like this (as well as their supportive parents). Those are the kids that deserve a million views on YouTube. Just like the original Fab Four, practicing real instruments gives you the skills to apply to other mediums, other compositions, and the discipline to excel in other areas of your life. But I digress…
